2014 Fixtures are now released – A Summer of Cricket awaits!


The announcement of the new fixtures presents an introduction to a new structure for the domestic game with the return of 50-over cricket in the Royal London One-Day Cup, increased number of Sunday starts in the LV= County Championship and the exciting arrival of the new NatWest T20 Blast. This will see the expansion of the competition to seven expected sell-out home matches, including five floodlit Friday night matches at The Essex County Ground.

Essex County Cricket Club gear up for the 2014 season with the visit of Derbyshire for the opening match in the LV= County Championship at The Essex County Ground on Sunday 13 April.

Festival Cricket Returns with a Blast off:

Festival cricket returns in 2014 with the Colchester Cricket Festival, sponsored by Beaumont Seymour taking place on the 12-16 July, marking the 100th year of Festival Cricket in the historic town of Colchester. This includes the notable addition of NatWest T20 Blast cricket heading to Castle Park when Kent Spitfires will be the visitors. The LV= County Championship match at Colchester sees Essex take on Hampshire.

The Chelmsford Cricket Festival, sponsored by Birketts, also includes a NatWest T20 Blast fixture in the new season as the Eagles face Glamorgan on Friday 23 May. Surrey visit Chelmsford on Sunday 25 May for the finale of the Festival in the LV= County Championship.
