Essex set for the penultimate home match this week

 

The season is set to go down to the wire with Essex still occupying top spot in Division Two of the Specsavers County Championship. The next step in the promotion push sees Chris Silverwood’s men come up against third placed Worcestershire on Wednesday (31 August) at The Essex County Ground.

Essex head into the penultimate home match of the 2016 campaign with a 24 point lead over second placed Kent.

The match will also see Alastair Cook feature in an Essex shirt again, alongside loanee, Will Rhodes who will be making his first appearance in front of the Chelmsford crowd.
