Essex Players Overseas | Dan Lawrence Off To A Flyer

There are a number of Essex players overseas currently with the majority in Australia, as well as a couple dotted about elsewhere.

Dan Lawrence, Paul Walter and Callum Taylor are all based in Australia over the winter, with Lawrence getting off to an absolute flyer for his side Wanneroo District Cricket Club. Dan has played 3 matches for the club since arriving in Australia, scoring 267 runs and taking 5 wickets. He top scored in his most recent match with 140 batting at number 4, unfortunately his opposition which included Australian star Adam Voges went on to win on the final ball of the match. His 3 scores of 44, 83 and 140 will be no surprise to Essex fans after the 19-year old’s fine form this season. He also has 5 wickets, including 4/49 in his first match.

Callum is playing for Mount Lawley Cricket Club which is the same club that Essex bowler Matt Dixon played for. He hasn’t got off to such a prolific start as Dan has but will be looking to push on once he gets used to the conditions. He has also played 3 matches and has scores of 0, 15, & 27. Callum also has 5 wickets including 3/30.

Paul Walter has played only 1 game so far for the Deepedene Bears, taking 1/26 and scoring 3 runs.

Kishen Velani is heading off to Wellington in New Zealand but is yet to play a match, whilst Tom Westley and Aaron Beard will be heading out to Dubai with the England Lions & England Young Lions respectively.
