Essex Eagles have named a 12-man squad for their Friends Provident Trophy match against Surrey Brown Caps at The Brit Oval on Sunday.

The Eagles are without opener Alastair Cook who has been rested from Friends Provident Trophy duty for the current round of matches along with the remainder of those chosen in the England squad for the first Test against New Zealand.

Meanwhile, Ravinder Bopara also misses out as he is playing for England Lions on the final day of their four-day match against New Zealand at the Rose Bowl.

All-rounder Graham Napier returns to the squad for the first time this season after a knee injury but Tim Phillips is still recovering after knee surgery.

Grant Flower and David Masters are back in the squad after missing out for the Championship game just finished with Middlesex while Tom Westley is omitted.

Play is scheduled to get underway at midday.
