Members of the Essex Eagles squad took time out ahead of their preparation for the Twenty20 Cup to make sure they look the part when the tournament opens on Wednesday, June 11.

All-rounders James Middlebrook, Graham Napier and Ryan ten Doeschate visited Simon Branch – Hair Design & Grooming For Men on Tuesday afternoon to take advantage of the variety of treatments and services available at the Chelmsford-based salon.

Hair stylist Simon Branch and beautician Jenny Wheeler treated the players to their expert touch as the Eagles players enjoyed a period of relaxation ahead of the hurly-burly of Twenty20 cricket.

The Eagles play their first match away to the Surrey Brown Caps at the Brit Oval tomorrow (Wednesday) before moving on to Lord’s on Thursday to play Middlesex Crusaders and then a home fixture against the same opposition on Sunday.

Simon Branch said: “It’s great that some of the Essex Eagles have offered their support to the new salon just ahead of the Twenty20 Cup. If their afternoon with us can assist in even a small way to their success in the competition then in will be a job well done!”

Graham Napier said: “The next two weeks is going to be one of the toughest periods of the season because every Twenty20 match is a massive challenge both physically and mentally. All the players who came along today are extremely grateful to Simon and Jenny for ensuring we go into our opening match in a relaxed frame of mind. If results go well I’ll be paying a regular visit to Simon in the future!”
