ECCB Child Safeguarding

As child protection awareness increases and legislation regarding the employment (paid or voluntary) for people working with children or vulnerable adults becomes ever tighter, the matter of child welfare compliance will continue to become increasingly important.
This is, therefore, a necessary hoop to jump through and Essex Cricket is pleased to help all clubs to achieve full compliance and best practice. The ECB have a hard-working team dedicated to assisting counties to assist clubs with all matters of welfare and we at Essex Cricket support and advocate the ECB’s ‘Safehands’ policy.

This policy can be downloaded in full at the ECB website

Club Welfare Officers

As part of the ‘Safehands’ policy, each club should appoint and train a Club Welfare Officer; some leagues are now taking disciplinary action on those clubs who have not done so.
Club Welfare Officer training courses (SPC and Safehands for CWO) are being held throughout the off- season around the county. Please contact Essex Cricket’s County Welfare Officer Jeni Murrell on 01245 254034 jeni.murrell@essexcricket.org.uk to book places.
Training for Welfare officers
There are two training courses that club welfare officers need to attend every three years, the Safeguarding & Protecting Children workshop (which coaches also need to attend every three years) and the Safehands for CWO workshop (which replaces the old TTL workshop). See the courses page for details of courses currently booking

New tool For contacting your Team easily!About Teamer

Teamer is an online team management system created and designed to minimize the effort involved in organizing your team.
Founded by a unique mix of internet professionals with extensive experience of team captaincy at both the competitive and social level, Teamer uses the web to significantly decrease the amount of time it takes to get your team on the field.
For Team Leaders
Whether you’re a captain, a manager or a coach, Teamer will make your life easier. The application was born out of the experience of team leaders just like you. Why should getting a team on the field take dozens of phone calls and emails?
With Teamer, you pick the players you want to notify, specify whether they should receive text and/or email notification and send the game notice. As replies are received, your teamPage updates with up to the minute response information letting you know where you stand for the upcoming game.
You can even select replacements that will be automatically notified about the game if one of your team is unavailable.

For Players
Let your team leader know your availability by simply replying ‘y’ (yes), or ‘n’ (no) to a text message on your phone or go to teamer.net and mark your availability online. From your teamPage, you can get all the information you need for upcoming team events and keep in touch with your teammates.

Privacy
Do you want to use your team blog to go through tactics with your players? No problem, teamPages are private and secure, only people invited by the team leader can access the teamPage.
