GET CLOSER TO THE ACTION AT ESSEX
The Essex CCC website is launching an RSS Feed during the latest Championship game that will allow users to access match updates via the ECCC Diary as soon as they are published.
Regular match report updates on our Championship fixture with Middlesex along with the latest news from our 2nd XI game at Garon Park can be located in the ECCC Diary. Live commentary and a scoreboard are available elsewhere on the website for our game at the Ford County Ground.
But to get the full view of our 1st XI and 2nd XI games make sure you sign up to this latest way to get you closer to the action at Essex County Cricket Club.
To subscribe, the first thing you need is something called a news reader. This is a piece of software that checks the feeds and lets you read any new articles that have been added. There are many different versions, some of which are accessed using a browser, and some of which are downloadable applications.
The Rocket link below allows you to access the ECCC Diary feed immediately without downloading any software:

Or you can choose a downloadable version and install it on your computer. NewsGator is one such popular application and you can obtain it, free of charge, by selecting the link below:

Why subscribe to a News Feed?
News feeds allow you to see when websites have added new content. You can get the latest headlines and video in one place, as soon as it’s published, without having to visit the websites you have taken the feed from.
Feeds are also known as RSS ('Really Simple Syndication'). In essence, the feeds themselves are just web pages, designed to be read by computers rather than people.
Browser-based news readers let you catch up with your RSS feed subscriptions from any computer, whereas downloadable applications let you store them on your main computer, in the same way that you either download your e-mail using Outlook, or keep it on a web-based service like Hotmail.
Once you have chosen a news reader, all you have to do is to decide what content you want it to receive.
Notes for website administrators:
If you run your own website, you can display the latest headlines from other websites on your own site using RSS.
We encourage the use of Essex Cricket feeds as part of a website, however, we do require that the proper format and attribution is used when Essex Cricket content appears. The attribution text should read Essex CCC website or www.essexcricket.org.uk as appropriate.
