Matchday Arrival

LV=County Championship / Royal London One Day Cup – If you are a member arriving at The Essex County Ground you can enter at any gate after the gates are open. If you are a non-member then you can enter at any gate except the members gate next to the Pavilion.

NatWest T20 Blast – All supporters can access the ground through any gate, although it is advised you enter nearest your seat if you have reserved.

If you are a visitor to The Essex County Ground, you will need to report to Reception via the The Cricket Store. Please note that the Reception is only accessible through the New Writtle Street entrance to The Essex County Ground.

Non-Matchday Arrival

If you are visiting The Essex County Ground on a non-matchday and not a conference delegate, then you need to report to Reception via The Cricket Store to sign in.

If you are a conference delegate, please go straight to the conference room booked by your organiser, which should of been communicated to you.


Parking for the The Cricket Store and Reception is available for short stays.

From 2015, there is no parking at The Essex County Ground on matchdays for members.

Members are asked to park at Meteor Way on matchdays which is short walk from the ground.  Parking at Meteor Way is for members only and will cost £1 per day. Meteor Way is situated off Waterhouse Lane inbetween e2v and the fire station. There is a pathway that connects this car park to the back of The Essex County Ground which follows the river. Members are required to then walk past Virgin Active Gym and to join New Writtle Street and enter the ground via the main gate.



Pay & Display parking is also available on matchdays for the floodlit Royal London One Day Cup & NatWest T20 Blast matches at The Essex County Ground. The High Chelmer car park is open until 11.00pm for all fixtures featured on the ‘Car Park Timetable’.

Park & Ride

Park and Ride service to The Essex County Ground are available from two places.

  • The Sandon site is located at junction 18 on the A12 (the A414/A1060 Maldon Road Interchange). Satnav users should input postcode CM2 7RZ.
  • The Chelmer Valley site is located on the A130 east of Essex Regiment Way, accessed from the Pratts Farm roundabout. Satnav users should input postcode CM3 3PR.

The nearest bus stop is Parkway or the High Street (Back of Marks & Spencer).
