Welcome to the matchday information for the 2014 season with 20 competitive matches being staged at The Essex County Ground, Chelmsford & Castle Park, Colchester. Here you will find the guide on alcohol & refund policies, seating arrangements and ground maps.

T20policies

Alcohol Policy:

Spectators are not permitted to bring any alcoholic drinks into The Essex County Ground. No glass bottles or glass drinking vessels will be allowed into the ground. Searches will be carried out at all entry points and any glass found will be confiscated.

Please inform all ticket holders of this regulation.

Seating/Ticketing Arrangements:

  • Gates will open two hours before the start of play.
  • Ground Entrance tickets are sold with no seat guaranteed.
  • Please be aware that the reserving of seats by spectators for people not yet in the ground is against ground regulations and stewards will be instructed to release any such seats. Membership cards will be required for all Members areas, including the Pavilion.
  • The Tiptree Stand (now located in the County Corner) is an alcohol-free Family Stand.
  • Entry to the Grass Area will only be permitted with a valid match wristband or accreditation, which will be issued with your match ticket. Seating in this area is guaranteed but the location of your seat will be on a first come, first basis for all NatWest T20 Blast matches.
  • No spectators will be permitted on the outfield before, during or after the match

Searches will be carried out at all entry points and any glass found will be confiscated. The Tiptree Stand (now located in the County Corner) is an alcohol-free Family Stand.

LV= County Championship:  11am – 6pm (April  – July) | 10.30am – 5.30pm (September)

Royal London One-Day Cup: 2pm | Tuesday 5 August 10:30am (Subject to change)

NatWest T20 Blast (Home Midweek): 7pm – 9.45pm

NatWest T20 Blast (v Kent): 2.30pm – 5.15pm

Essex v Sri Lanka: 2pm start

  • Members are reminded to bring their Membership cards along with their valid match ticket to gain access on the day.

The Public Bar will be not available for the 2014 season. There will however be an improved range of food and drink options in the County Corner area of the ground for you to visit and enjoy.

Disabled policy:

We very much want to welcome and give an enjoyable experience to our disabled Members and supporters.

Disabled Members and supporters can apply by phone (01245 254010) or in person at The Essex County Ground for a disabled ticket and where applicable a complimentary carer’s ticket.

We ask for the presentation of a Disability living allowance to qualify for the above.
