Jamaican-born pace bowler who made his first-class debut for Essex in 2005 against Durham at the Riverside. Although still part of the Academy set-up up until 2007, Chambers has been involved with the first-team ever since.

Showed some lively form during the County’s pre-season matches ahead of the 2006 campaign but was given little opportunity at first-team level that year.

Progressed well during the following winter and was duly recognised for his efforts with selection for the England Under-19 tour to Malaysia in January/February 2007. Once again the pace bowler shaped up well during the warm-up matches but a stress fracture in his spine ended his season prematurely. Rehabilitation went well over the winter so he will be looking to push strongly for selection this year.
