Debut: 1997
Cap: 2003
Right-hand bat/right-arm fast bowler
Right-hand bat/right-arm fast bowler A member of the England Under-19 side that won the World Cup in 1998, the hard-hitting all-rounder - who bowls brisk seamers - became a mainstay of the Essex side in 2002 although his career has often been interrupted by injuries. In 2003, he took 33 victims in the National League to equal the record for the most wickets taken by an Essex player in a one-day league campaign and won a place on the England ‘A’ winter tour.
The 2008 season brought him international acclaim when he struck a world-record 16 sixes in a T20 match against Sussex at Chelmsford hitting 152 not out off 58 balls. His career was again interrupted when he sustained a back injury that sidelined for much of the County’s 2010 campaign but he made a stunning return during 2011 taking a hat-trick in a CB40 match with Glamorgan.
Then, playing against Surrey at Whitgift School in May and in his first Championship innings for 11 months, Graham clubbed 196 off 130 deliveries of which 172 came in boundaries. His last 103 runs spanned only just 29 deliveries before he dismissed having equalled a world record 16 sixes in an innings.
Graham has been awarded a Benefit Year for 2012.
