The giant 6’7” tall fast bowler is another to emerge from the Essex Academy and 2011 provided a phenomenal rise to prominence for the teenager. He was still at school when he burst on the scene with a five-wicket haul in the Kent second innings on his Championship debut in April before he followed up with another five-for in the next match against Middlesex. 

The son of former Essex all-rounder Don, left-arm seamer Reece finished the season with 25 wickets from his 7 Championship matches and he also played three CB40 games.

He has opted to curtail his studies at Royal Hospital School, Suffolk to concentrate on a full-time cricket career with the prospects of an exciting year in 2012 both for the County and, if selected, with England at the ICC Under-19 World Cup in Brisbane, Australia in August.
