Jamie Porter named DeVines Player of the Year

Jamie Porter has been named the DeVines Player of the Year as The Cloudfm County Ground played host to the Annual End of Season Gala Dinner and Player Awards last night.

The evening offered the chance to share the success of the past season with our supporters, sponsors and players in a packed on-pitch marquee, the first time the event has been held on the hallowed turf in Chelmsford.

Jamie Porter was the stand out award winner, scooping four awards after a superb season with the ball. Porter completed his impressive haul by claiming Media Player of the Year, Bowler of the Year, Players’ Player of the Year in addition to the evenings top prize as voted for online via the Essex County Cricket Club Website.

Porter said of his success “Tonight has been a great evening, I have worked hard over the past 12 months and I want to be the best that I can be. It is nice to get these accolades but I hope this is just the beginning of bigger and better things and of course, more team silverware.”
