Hear Stuart Turner reminisce about the Sunday League

Want to re-live the Essex in the Sunday League?

Come to the Doug Insole Pavilion on Wednesday 1st June at 7:00pm to hear Stuart Turner talk about the emergence of Essex Cricket as a force in domestic cricket.

This is a event organised and run by the museum, so ‘friends of the museum’ will be admitted free but it is open to all with a £5 payment to gain you admission to this event and any further events run by the museum for a year as you become yourself a ‘friend of the museum’.

Being a ‘friend’ entitles you to a welcome drink and food buffet, along with publications from the museum.

Stuart Turner, the former Essex All-rounder who won four championships in eight seasons as Essex grew in the domestic game will spend the evening entertaining with stories from his time as a player, mostly focusing on the Sunday League.

If you want to hear or read more about the history of Essex County Cricket Club, there’s currently an exhibition about the John Player League that was won on the 3 occasions and showcases the trophy itself in the museum, which is located next to the shop.
