The 26-year-old bought himself out of his contract and moved to Hampshire for the 2013 season. He made three first-class centuries in his first season before continuing his good form throughout his time at The Ageas Bowl. Wheater represented the Club across all three formats in 2017, and scored late season runs to help the Club achieve a County Championship title.
